I grew up in South Bend, Indiana. In high school I was introduced to photography by a teacher, Brother Glenpatrick Willis, and became the high school newspaper and yearbook photographer. Following high school I attended Indiana University Bloomington in the early 70's. My major was Audio-Visual Communication, which included Movie making, Photography, Radio, and Television.
I moved to the Great Northwest in 1973 and never looked back.
I've traveled extensively throughout the Western United States and Internationally, always packing a camera. I concentrate on graphic composition, color and interest. My intent is to have the viewer smile, think, and appreciate a vision of the world that may be unique.
I started photography shooting Black & White and processing in my own darkroom. Photo equipment included 35mm, medium and large format film cameras. I liked to experiment with different films including black & white infrared.
My darkroom processes included toning, multiple images, and solarization.
But then Digital Photography took over. I was dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age, but now love it! The shooting and processing options are overwhelmingly more varied. I have been able to scan negatives and slides and improve old images with computer programs and printing options.
